Why does it take four weeks to get my Mix Boxes?
Each set is made to order and while it only takes about a week to complete the boxes our factory makes these in groups. So what that means is some orders are held for a time and will need the full four week shipping time and others will ship faster depending on when they come in on the production cycle.

Are TUC products Sustainable?
We strive to design and produce products that last generations. TUC products are direct solutions that are simple, straightforward and minimal in their use of raw materials. We employ manufacturing techniques that optimize the supply of these materials. With a high level of design consideration and craftsmanship, we believe the biggest impact we can have, as a company, is to create products at heirloom quality products that outlive the demands of our customers and their future families.

Do you work with outside designers?
We do work with outside designers but do not accept unsolicited ideas or concepts. Please do not send us any drawings or ideas before we have had a chance to learn a bit about each other. Lets not rush things, but feel free to email us some information about you at firstdate@theutilitycollective.com.

I'm an architect or designer. Do I get a discount?
Of course you do but you need to prove it with a few things like a web site, copy of a business card, or even better -- a resale certificate. Please see the TRADE page on our site or email trade@theutilitycollective.com for more information about making a purchase.

How do I care for my TUC products?
TUC utilizes a durable finish that requires minimal maintenance. In most cases, a simple damp cloth will do the trick. For more persistent issues, a mild, non-toxic detergent can be used.

How long does it take to receive product purchased from The Utility Collective?
All products are made to order. For furniture items from the time you place your order to it showing up on your doorstep takes approximately four weeks. Smaller items will ship faster around 2-3 weeks.

How do you ship TUC products?
All orders will be shipped FedEx Ground and charged at the time your order. Please refer to the Shipping Charges for costs for all services. Mix Boxes ship free to to US customers excluding Alaska and Hawaii. Please ask for a shipping quote if you are an international customer.

Do you ship internationally?
TUC can ship some of our products internationally. If you would like to purchase our product from outside the US, please email at sales@theutilitycollective.com and we will try our best to help you out.

What is the TUC Return/Exchange Policy?
We stand behind all our products at TUC. If upon delivery you find that our products are defective in workmanship or materials, TUC will replace or provide a refund upon return of the item in question. You will have 5 days from date of delivery to make a claim of this type. If for any reason you are unhappy with your TUC item, you can return it within 30 days of purchase for a refund of the product cost. We charge a 15% handling and re-stocking fee and the product must be returned in its original packaging. Shipping charges incurred will be your responsibility and will not be refunded.

Is my Credit Card and Personal Information Safe with TUC?
Our online store utilizes SSL technology to insure that all personal information including credit card number, name, email and address cannot be read as information over the Internet. Your browser must be SSL-enabled for this encryption to work. To that end, we will not collect, share or disperse any of this information via email or any other means. . If you would like to keep abreast of the happenings here at TUC, please sign up or click on the box upon check out to be included on our mailing list.

How are the Shipping Costs determined?
Shipping costs are based on your total order amount before sales tax and promotional discounts are applied. To determine the shipping cost for your order, please refer to the chart above (charges are per shipping address). Please contact us for white glove delivery rates, as additional charges may apply. Note: Items sent directly from our suppliers may take longer, and items ordered together may not arrive in the same box.

What forms of payment are accepted?
Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Pay Pal

How do I make a return/exchange?
To make a return please contact returns@theutilitycollective.com. All products must be well packed and returned in their original package. Original shipping and handling charges are non-refundable, and the customer bears the responsibility for return shipping costs. Returns need to be well-packed and insured for the full price of the item. We recommend the return be sent via traceable method. A 15% restocking fee will be charged for all returns on furniture items.

How do I report damaged shipments?
Please contact us immediately so that we can process a claim and/or replacement. Our shippers usually requires an inspection in the event of damage so please hold onto all packing materials and the item until further notice. TUC MUST be informed within 3 days of delivery of all damaged goods, or we cannot process a claim. Please inspect all deliveries thoroughly upon arrival.

Do I pay sales taxes on my purchases?
California residents will have sales tax automatically added to their order. If TUC is not collecting your state's taxes, you are expected to comply with your state's current laws regarding purchases over the Internet.
